Under the name Luwten, musician and producer Tessa Douwstra creates tranquil pop music in which electronic and acoustic elements alternate and complement one another. The magic lies in the details: unexpected piano notes, whisper-soft vocals and lyrics that leave room for the imagination. Following her critically acclaimed self-titled debut, her follow-up album ‘Draft’ (2021) was voted Best Dutch Album of the year by both OOR and 3voor12. ‘Luwten’ received airplay on the BBC, Beats 1, Triple J and KCRW, and she toured the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France and the United Kingdom. Since then, she has performed on stages across Europe and collaborated with artists including Binkbeats, Elmer, De Staat, Pitou and Naaz.
