Thijs Boontjes is a Dutch-language crooner and a charismatic rock star. The Amsterdam-based singer-songwriter launched his solo career in 2015 and has since become an integral part of the Dutch entertainment scene. A phenomenon on stage. A welcome guest on radio and TV. Wherever Boontjes is, things get lively. Wherever Boontjes is, there’s a great atmosphere. In the spring of 2027, an EP packed with new ‘Neder-italo’ is set for release. ‘Neder-italo’, yes. Because “the midlife crisis strikes early in this life”, says your Boontje, from his yellow Italian convertible, clad in leather trousers and a Versace shirt, ready to set the stage alight. Under the name “Andiamo, Tiziano”, Thijs will be touring the country with his band over the coming months, armed with a new club show packed with both familiar and recent material – because you can rest assured he’ll be keen to give his most loyal fans a live preview of his as-yet-unreleased Italo bangers on stage. On 17 April 2027, Thijs and his band will take to the Main Hall to ‘come home’, as is tradition, for the final club show of the tour. It promises to be an absolutely brilliant atmosphere, complete with a smoke machine and a touch of gold.
